Swissreg – trade mark database

The trade mark database provides information on active and cancelled trade marks as well as trade mark applications in Switzerland. You will also find the official publications of new registrations and changes to the register in the database. Owners and representatives can manage their trade marks and trade mark applications directly via the database.

In the trade mark database, you can find out quickly and easily about active, cancelled and newly registered trade marks in Switzerland – in terms of both their current status and their history. You can also search specifically for all official publications, such as new registrations, changes of owner and renewals, and monitor them if necessary.

Data set

Search for figurative elements

The figurative elements of trade marks are coded using the Vienna Classification. Thanks to these codes, you can also search figurative elements of trade marks. To do so, use the Vienna Classification filter

It is not possible to search for figurative elements just by entering a term in the general search field: Search terms are only searched for in the word components of trade marks.

Search limitations

Please be aware that searching the database before you file a trade mark application is not sufficient to conclusively rule out potential conflicts with previously registered trade marks.

Conflicts can arise in particular with trade marks that are written or designed in the same or a similar way or are pronounced in a similar way. You can search for such trade marks in the trade mark database only to a limited extent or not at all. Searches by specialists are therefore essential to have a reliable basis for decision-making. Please contact a trade mark search provider.

Manage IP rights online

As an owner or representative, you can use Swissreg to manage your applications and registered trade marks and, for example, to request register changes or international trade mark protection

Please note that requests for register changes can only be submitted in German, French or Italian.

Legal notice
Swissreg is the IPI’s official organ of publication for the legally effective publication of new registrations and changes to the register. However, only extracts from the IP rights registers managed by the IPI are legally binding with regard to the content of the register.
