Swissreg – trade mark database

The trade mark database provides information on active and cancelled trade marks as well as trade mark applications in Switzerland. You will also find the official publications of new registrations and changes to the register in the database. Owners and representatives can manage their trade marks and trade mark applications directly via the database.

In the trade mark database, you can find out quickly and easily about active, cancelled and newly registered trade marks in Switzerland – in terms of both their current status and their history. You can also search specifically for all official publications, such as new registrations, changes of owner and renewals, and monitor them if necessary.

Search limitations

You can quickly and easily find out about active and newly registered trade marks in the database. Please be aware that searching the database before you submit a trade mark application is not sufficient to conclusively rule out potential conflicts with previously registered trade marks. Among other things, similar trade marks can only be found to a limited extent. It is also not possible to search for figurative elements. For example, the search term fox only finds trade marks with the word element fox, but not figurative marks or word/figurative marks with a fox as a figurative element. Finally, you should take similar-sounding trade marks into account, which can also lead to confusion. Commissioning a search by specialists is therefore indispensable if you wish to have a reliable basis for taking decisions. Please contact a trade mark search provider.
