Help with a user account

As the owner of a user account, you can edit and submit all kinds of requests, such as register changes, international trade mark registrations and debit orders for your current account.

If you wish, you can grant other people access to your user account. These users can view all linked requests and account transactions. You can grant them individual permissions to edit the requests:

  • Edit request means that the user can prepare or change a request. However, the user can’t submit a request.
  • Submit request means that the user can submit a request that has already been prepared.

Good to know: one person can receive (individual) permissions for several user accounts.

Manage permissions

You can manage the permissions in the user account settings:

  • Sign in to your user account in our online services via ‘Sign in’.
  • Then click on the user icon or on one of the email addresses to open the sidebar.
  • Go to ‘Settings’.

You can access permissions via the menu on the left. If you’ve signed in as the owner of the user account, you’ll see how many other permitted users there are. If you’ve signed in as a user, your permissions for other user accounts are listed.

The ‘Manage’ link takes you to the overview page where you can add new users and permissions and change existing ones..

Set up a new user

Before you grant permissions, you need to register the user in the user account:

  • Under ‘Grant permission’, click on the link ‘Register new user’. You can also send the link directly to new users so that they can register themselves.
  • Enter the email address of the new user and a password.
  • After clicking on ‘Register’ and accepting the terms of use and the general terms and conditions, the new user will receive a confirmation link by email.
  • After confirmation, the user is set up.

Grant permissions

You can grant new permissions under ‘Grant permission’:

  • Enter the user’s email address.
  • Then remove the permissions that you do not want to grant to the user by clicking on the ‘X’ next to the relevant permissions.
  • Click on ‘Add’ to grant the selected permissions to the user.

Remove permissions

  • You can remove a user’s individual permissions by clicking on the ‘X’ next to the corresponding permission.
  • Alternatively, you can remove all their permissions by selecting ‘Remove’ under ‘Edit’.

Switch user account

If you have access to several user accounts, you can switch user accounts at any time while you’re signed in:

  • Within the online services, click on the user icon at the top or on one of the email addresses to open the sidebar.
  • Select a different email address for the ‘Electronic delivery address’ under ‘Account’ via the dropdown menu.

Multi-factor authentication

We recommend that all users set up multi-factor authentication.

You can find multi-factor authentication in the user account settings (within online services, click on the user icon or on one of the email addresses at the top > ‘Settings’ > ‘Multi-factor authentication’).
