Applying for national or international design protection
Think globally
If your products are also destined for foreign markets, you should consider cross-border protection for your design.
In addition to applying for protection in Switzerland, you can also apply directly for design protection in other countries. You usually have to deal with the local office and communicate in the national language of the country in question. Often, you will also need a local representative. You can find information and tips on the websites of the respective national offices.
Instead of filing in each country individually, you can also apply for international design protection through the WIPO , or through the EUIPO for the member states of the European Union.
