Sequence search

Biotechnological and pharmaceutical developments are often based on complex nucleic or protein acid sequences. In sequence search and analysis, in particular, there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution. The search for biomolecules and their sequence modifications often requires an equally complex and sophisticated search strategy and corresponding expertise, e.g:

  • Substitutions and mutations at certain sequence positions
  • Chemical modifications
  • Antibody sequences, including targeted analysis of CDR sequences and heavy/light chains
  • RNA-based therapeutics (siRNA, miRNA, etc.)
  • Chimeric and fusion molecules (CARs)
  • Constructs with specific functional domains (promoters, nuclear signalling domains, transmembrane domains, etc.)

Our wide range of databases, search algorithms and parameters help with the analysis of a wide variety of technologies and applications. Sequence results can also be combined with other search approaches (keyword search, patent classes, etc.). In close consultation with our clients, our experts leverage their extensive experience to develop the most suitable search strategy for various issues, such as patentability, freedom to operate (FTO), legal validity and patent landscaping.
