«Many SME could take a leaf out of their book»

As part of the YES (Young Enterprise Switzerland) Company Programme, young people presented their mini-companies at Shopville in Zurich from 25 to 29 March. They also put their knowledge of intellectual property to the test.

Senior IP trainer Matthias Käch from the IPI was on site at the semi-final to test the young entrepreneurs' understanding of trade marks and the like. The young people, who run a company for a year under real-life conditions, had previously gained valuable insights in the IPI workshop. In addition to general information, the focus was on respecting the rights of third parties (keyword: copyright and brand names) and concluding contracts within the teams.

The engagement with the topic will be rewarded in June. At the YES final, the IPI will present the IP Management Award to the mini-enterprise that has most convincingly integrated intellectual property. The IPI is a long-standing partner of YES and is organising the award for the tenth time.
